Theodore Roosevelt was America’s original conservationist – pioneering preservation of our country’s greatest resources. One hundred and forty years later, Roosevelt’s vision is taking shape in the Badlands of rural North Dakota, with construction of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library (TRPL). TRPL’s architectural team—Architect-of-Record JLG Architects, international Design Architect and Design Landscape Architect Snøhetta, Landscape Architect-of-Record Confluence, and Construction Manager JE Dunn—are preparing to make history, extending T.R.’s legacy into the next century of conservation focused on circularity of carbon.
On July 25, 2024, JLG’s Ty Pritchard captured the excitement of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library (TRPL) on stage at TEDxFargo, delivered by Snøhetta’s Craig Dykers. Craig was introduced by last year’s TRPL presenter and JLG’s Principal Sustainability Officer, Patrick Thibaudeau. Opening in 2026, TRPL’s “Living Library” will carry on Roosevelt’s passion for conservation, honoring ecological systems and serving as a global model for sustainable living.
“We’re not just building a presidential library. We’re building an idea that has a powerful transformative impact on the way we work, learn, and live, both today and into the next century.”
