Kraft Memorial Field

Grand Forks, North Dakota

In Grand Forks, ND, the 1986-built Harold Kraft Memorial Field was showing signs of wear and tear, water intrusion, deterioration, and inefficient space planning. To secure a solution that would help keep their program growing, the Grand Forks Youth Baseball Association (GFYBA) coordinated efforts with Grand Forks Park District (GFPD) and Grand Forks Public Schools (GFPS). This team worked closely with JLG Architects to develop a proactive concept plan for the future of youth baseball, centering around the redevelopment of Kraft Memorial Field. Completed at the start of the 2024 summer, the new Kraft Field, now known as Oxford Sports Complex, loads the bases with a more operationally efficient, state-of-the-art facility, offering a renovated grandstand with 300 chair-back seats, a new press box, ADA accessible restrooms and lockers, and a new concessions and backstop. JLG also helped the Complex reimagine the main entry and wayfinding for a more exciting fan arrival, hitting a home run in ballpark design that now rivals all other local organizations.

"All the little fellas who see this ballpark as it continues to come up and be developed… it’ll be a magnet to keep them interested and come out. It’s been a wonderful blessing."
