Elk River Community Facility & Ice Arena

The Elk River Community Facility and Ice Arena projects were completed in 2020, funded by a newly approved sales tax that allowed for significant additions to the ice arena and multiple city recreation improvements. Kicking off the project, JLG created a design that converted the existing ice arena to an indoor, multi-purpose turf field with a walking track and fitness space. The varsity softball field was then relocated and upgraded with new turf, lights, and improved drainage. In the Arena addition, another walking track was added around the spectator area, circling two new sheets of ice. This 75,000 SF addition also provides a senior center, community rooms with a catering kitchen, and upgraded concessions to serve expanded menu options. With the Arena addition and Community Facility upgrades, Elk River, Minnesota, is a hot spot for future growth, expanding year-round family recreation and community well-being.
