Devils Lake Air Terminal

Devils Lake, North Dakota

As one of the Midwest’s most sought-after habitats for hunters and anglers, Devils Lake is a flourishing destination. To meet the community’s growing air transportation needs, the Devils Lake Airport replaced their existing terminal with a new 5,600-square foot facility designed to accommodate the influx of travelers, and the new security requirements enforced by the air travel industry. The new passenger terminal is designed to reflect the heritage and beauty of flight with an aerodynamic roofline and exposed cable/strut structural system. In celebrating the purpose of the building, the design offers a dynamic “front door” for the region’s many visitors, including soldiers in training at the nearby Camp Grafton. Through a collaborative effort, the terminal design stayed within its pledged one-million-dollar budget.
