Blending Mississippi riverfront charm and historic preservation, The Confluence provides an upscale establishment just steps from downtown Hastings, MN. Working alongside interior finishes by Cunningham, JLG provided an exterior renovation and interior layout of the former H.D. Hudson Manufacturing Company Factory, listed on the national register of historic places. In marrying the agrarian roots of the region with historic downtown, JLG worked closely with IDM to implement historic preservation tax incentives, which allowed sustainable re-use of an aging downtown structure. JLG’s team helped define space for 77 boutique-style hotel rooms, nine loft-style apartments, a grand stair landing, a 350-person event space, and an on-site bar and restaurant — all with breathtaking river views from expansive windows, patios, and terraces. As the new heart of the community, The Confluence has revitalized downtown Hastings, becoming a catalyst for future development while serving the community’s need for upscale gathering and hospitality experiences.
