In 2018, Alexandria’s Douglas County Hospital, along with an integrated organization of three distinct clinics, were serving over 150 zip codes throughout central Minnesota, prompting a more unified brand and name change to Alomere Health. This change empowered a vision to better serve the surrounding area with a new and expanded Alomere Health Rehabilitation Services building. JLG had already begun work with Alomere three years earlier to explore possible expansion and relocation opportunities for their Rehabilitation Services program. Within this process, JLG developed an efficient, 28,500 SF layout that would fit on a site adjacent to the hospital; land already owned by the client. The plans retained maximum existing parking and optimized daylight for interior spaces, creating a welcoming destination focused on biophilic, healing environments for the benefit of therapists and patients. The Rehabilitation Services building is designed with aesthetic, form, and materials that integrate with the Alomere’s existing facilities while providing a unique center for individualized therapy programs to maximize patient potential. Alomere’s new Rehabilitation Services building amplifies its regional recognition and help its integrated team of therapists reinforce their passion for helping patients build skills, strength, and capabilities to lead full, active lives.
