Alexandria Area YMCA

Following a comprehensive feasibility study, the Alexandria Area YMCA and JLG Architects designed a new 56,000 SF community YMCA facility. Working alongside the national YMCA, Young People’s Place (childcare provider), and select community partners, the team is realizing a dream for kids, teens, seniors, and families. Features designed into the YMCA facility include a full-service daycare center, a lap pool, a leisure pool with slide, and a state-of-the-art health center that overlooks the gymnasium and front lobby. In conjunction with Douglas County Hospital, a satellite physical therapy suite was also included at YMCA to offer full outpatient physical therapy needs, including a warm water rehabilitation environment. With a state-of-the-art therapy, childcare, and aquatics center, Alexandria’s YMCA brings the heart of the community together with health, wellness, and family fun.
