Port Wentworth, Ghost Pirates break ground on training facility, amphitheater

The 90,000-square-foot, $30-million training facility will feature two ice rinks, a restaurant and other amenities.

A project over a year in the making took one more step toward fruition Tuesday morning, as Port Wentworth, local officials and Zawyer Sports staff broke ground on the long-awaited Ice Cove, the Ghost Pirates’ ice hockey training facility and public amphitheater. Located in the same 150-acre space will be Anchor Park on Monteith Road.
