Wintrust Crossroads Sports Complex celebrated its Phase I grand opening on June 28, 2025, designed by JLG Architects, with Sports Facilities Companies, Northern Builders, VAA Engineering, TriMark USA, and Bolton & Menk. The $70 million 31-field complex is located at the crossroads of Interstates 355 and 80, 45 minutes southwest of Chicago. The 100-acre outdoor complex features 22 youth and nine full-size baseball and softball fields, two batting cages, and 11 multi-sport fields for soccer, lacrosse, and football. At the site, JLG Architects’ Sports Studio implemented an extensive drainage system and fenced-in, adjustable fields to accommodate athletes of all ages. Wintrust Crossroads Sports Complex includes a new welcome center, two full-service concession stands, a Coors Light Chill Zone beer garden, a Pepsi Play area, a playground, and 1,300 free parking spaces. A Phase II design is also being considered, with planning for a 122,000 SF field house addition that would host multi-sport tournament play, accommodating basketball, volleyball, wrestling, and pickleball. Phase II is projected to have a $12 million economic impact in its first year and $20 million by the third year. Once all phases are complete, Wintrust Crossroads Sports Complex anticipates over 600,000 visitors annually from a multi-state region, with an expected annual economic impact of over $30 million.
