Peltier Lodge is an extraordinary hospitality and healing project being developed to support cancer patients, their families, and their caregivers during extended treatment at the Sanford Roger Maris Cancer Center in Fargo. As North Dakota’s only blood and bone marrow transplant program continues to grow, many patients must remain near the cancer center for weeks or even months during treatment. The new lodge was made possible through several donors, including a transformational lead gift from Norma Peltier, a prolific Sanford Health volunteer and local philanthropist.
Peltier Lodge is designed to be a welcoming, home-like environment that helps ease the physical, emotional, and financial burdens of being away from home during a cancer journey. The lodge will offer private accommodations for patients and families, along with shared wellness and gathering spaces, including a wellness room, group kitchen, and outdoor courtyard patio. The project will extend Sanford Health’s world-class standards of care beyond the walls of the Roger Maris Cancer Center, fostering connection, comfort, and healing while supporting improved patient outcomes. By increasing access to temporary and long-term accommodations, the lodge will also help Sanford Health expand its blood and bone marrow transplant services to meet the growing demand for advanced cancer care across the region.
