Golfers in Sioux Falls, South Dakota can now get their golf fix all year long, without sweating through an 18-hole course. Located in a growing pocket in northwestern Sioux Falls, Great Shots offers an indoor golf complex that’s part of the Sanford Sports Complex. The 54,000 SF building was designed by JLG in the concept of a “golf entertainment facility” with a restaurant, a video game-filled children’s area, meeting space, Sanford POWER Golf Academy, and an interactive driving range. The facility is owned and operated by Sanford and includes several unique features designed to keep with the authenticity of the sport and serve athletes and families who want to improve their game.
The heated driving range is open year-round, with interactive technology provided by Big Shots and Flight Scope for ball tracking. The range features three floors of bays to hold up to 60 golfers at a time. Unlike other popular indoor golf centers, players here hit real golf balls into a heated outdoor bay into different zones that are used to score games. Great Shots is also home to the Sanford POWER Golf Academy, including a putting green, private bays for the range, and research space for the Sanford Sports Science Institute to study injury prevention and performance in golf. Golf hospitality company, Troon, operates Great Shots’ full-service restaurant and bar, and the facility’s six meeting spaces are available for parties and events. Great Shots is a vibrant family and athlete destination, regional recruitment tool, and economic driver benefiting the City of Sioux Falls and its residents.
