Great Park Ice & Five Point Arena

Irvine, California

Skating in at a staggering 280,000 SF, Great Park Ice & Sports Complex is the largest ice facility in California and one of the largest in the U.S. This Irvine, California, $100 million facility was completed in March 2019, with a LEED Silver Certified design by Tom Betti of JLG Architects, in conjunction with LPA, Inc. As the official practice facility of the National Hockey League’s Anaheim Ducks, Great Park Ice & Sports Complex offers three NHL-standard ice rinks, one Olympic-sized rink, a 2,500-seat arena, an Anaheim Ducks Team Store, Pro-Shop and state-of-the-art fitness gymnasium. This complex is also home to a dedicated administration, locker, and skater area for the U.S. Figure Skating Association, including space for public recreational skating, competitive and recreational figure skating, curling, broomball, sled hockey, and a multitude of youth and adult community events. Reinforcing full spectrum sports and entertainment experiences, Great Park gives visitors unexpected amenities beyond the ice; a restaurant/bar, café, lobby, party rooms, classrooms, conference spaces, and outdoor public space — all designed to happily unite competitors with community. This project was completed in conjunction with LPA Design Studio.
