Alomere Health Hospital

Alexandria, Minnesota

Alomere Health (formerly Douglas County Hospital) is a general medical and surgical hospital in Alexandria, MN, with 127 beds. It is accredited by the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP), has a Level III trauma center, and has twice been named as one of the Top 100 Hospitals by Thomson Reuters. In the completion of a 100,000 SF, $26 million-dollar addition to their campus, JLG worked closely with Alomere Health System, staff, and providers to create a welcoming and comfortable environment. The three-story wing, added to the south side of the facility, includes a new primary entrance, waiting area, orthopedic clinic and physical therapy department on the main level, and 34 private patient rooms on the second level. The third level is home to a new Birth Center consisting of five birth rooms, a dedicated C-section operating room, 15 postpartum rooms, and 11 additional private patient rooms.

As part of the project, the helipad was relocated, and parking was increased by approximately 130 parking stalls. With a successful campus addition, Alomere can further strengthen its passion to nurture the health and well-being of the entire community through every season of life.  This project was completed in collaboration with HGA Architects.
