Rogers Indoor Turf

Rogers, Minnesota

In 2007, JLG’s Tom Betti led the 48,250 SF design of the Rogers Activity Center in Rogers, MN, providing an NHL-sized ice sheet, fan and player amenities, and multi-use community rooms. Over a decade later, recognizing the increasing demand for indoor and year-round athletic space, Rogers collaborated with JLG to design the community and region’s first indoor turf facility. The 85,538 SF facility, scheduled to open in September 2025, is a permanent pre-engineered stretched fabric structure—a cost-effective solution that avoids the added maintenance and expense of inflatable dome structures. This highly efficient long-span steel structured facility was designed to be multipurpose, anchored by a National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) soccer field. Beyond soccer, JLG also integrated flexible floor space for year-round play of lacrosse, football, softball, and baseball. Rogers Indoor Turf is now the first in Minnesota to integrate Pivot®, a premium turf—without performance infill—combining natural, grass-like play-ability with high system stability and lower environmental and operational impact. The facility additionally includes perimeter walking track, a dedicated teen space for local youth, and an indoor playground, with a glass-screen wall atop the mezzanine, allowing high visibility to the playground and turf field. The structure’s interior is designed with a clean and modern palette of blue and grey tones aligned with the City of Rogers’ colors and Rogers Activity Center finishes. For efficient operations, the site layout considers a future ice rink expansion of the RAC and encourages circulation between the two facilities. Rogers Indoor Turf compliments Rogers Activity Center, inviting both athletes and community members to gather, play, compete, and stay active year-round.

“We are incredibly excited to announce the grand opening of HealthPartners Fieldhouse at TruStone Center. As a City of Rogers-owned and operated facility, it provides a unique level of year-round indoor sports and recreation opportunities not found elsewhere in our region. This turf fieldhouse has been a vision of Rogers residents, the Rogers Park and Recreation Advisory Commission, and the Rogers City Council for many years. We are beyond thankful to our residents, our sponsor partners, HealthPartners and TruStone Financial, and to JLG Architects and Terra Construction, who helped make the project a reality.”
