The Marion Sports and Entertainment Center will be located within a mixed-use development area in Marion, Indiana, at the intersection of I-69 and Highway 18. The facility will be a multi-use arena, with provisions for two ice sheets. The approximate size of the arena is an estimated maximum capacity 5,500 to include bowl seating, suites, club, floor and standing room were appropriate and a footprint of approximately 100,000 square feet and will include lockers, team spaces, food service capability, premium seating areas (suites, club, etc.), administration, training and conditioning areas, and other support spaces and areas.
The Marion Sports and Entertainment Center has been designed with many sustainable features. The site takes full advantage of natural drainage, and works closely with Indiana wetlands requirements for stormwater mitigation. It is protected by site vegetation from prevailing winter winds. All available waste heat from refrigeration equipment is recovered and used for heating occupied areas within the building.
