Roseau Memorial Arena Ice Replacement

Roseau, Minnesota

Since 1950, Roseau, Minnesota’s Memorial Arena has been the coveted breeding grounds for the state’s most talented college, Olympic, and NHL players. With only 1,000 seats and a wood ceiling with 28 massive rafters, this arena represents far more than a long legacy of hockey pride, it represents a community of donations and 500 local volunteers who donated countless hours to building the 216 X 120-foot structure. When the flood of 2002 devastated the region, Memorial Arena and 90% of Roseau suffered significant damage that forced urgent renovations. The City of Roseau recruited JLG to restore the Memorial Arena, planning for a remodel would replace the existing concrete slabs and ice system, renovate the entire lower level, add a new ice plant, and provide protection against future flooding. Today, Memorial Arena’s Championship banners once again hang from the rafters, welcoming all to dream big with the “Best High School Boys Hockey program in the State of Minnesota!”
